White Water Rafting
The main fork of the Salmon River is world renowned with fun class 3 and class 4 rapids. There are a number of guides that operate out of Stanley that can fix up with guided ½ and all day river rafting including lunch options. (15 minutes away)
Redfish Lake
The Crown Jewel of Idaho is Redfish Lake and it is a “must see”. Take the water taxi to the far end of the lake to see the 2000’ mountain cliffs coming right down into the north end. Jump off at the dock and take the hike to Lilly Pond and be sure to explore the trail along the end of the lake. The lodge dining room and gazebo are great for family lunches or dinners. We have beach chairs in the barn that you can use for lounging lakeside. Other nearby lakes are Pettit and Alturas. (15 minutes away)
Hiking
Three of our favorite hikes are as follows:
Fish Hook Creek: This is a relatively flat hike that is 45 minutes in to a spectacular meadow ringed by the Sawtooths with a creak flowing right through the middle. (15 minutes away)
Petit Lake: This is also a relatively flat hike to that follows the length of the lake to a beautiful conifer forest. And another 15 minutes beyond is the first waterfall. If you are in great shape and up for an all day hike, you can keep going all the way to Alice Lake. Some say it’s the most beautiful lake setting in all of North America.
Fisher Creek: Just off the ranch property is Fisher Creek. A morning walk for a mile a mile or two up the road will yield beautiful views along the creek.
